This boot looks so well, and feels so soft and cozy! Just perfect to warm you up during those first cold late fall days! I would not recommend it as a winter boot, because it won't protect you from wet weather or freezing temperatures. But I think it is perfect transition from flats to heavy winter boots. Fits large. My foot size is 6.5 and I've ordered 6. The boot still fits large. Sizing down to 5.5!
I would recommend this product.

Seriously, I did not have much hopes for this boot as a boot, I do not even know why I ordered it, except that I liked the way it fit on the foot, like a gator, with the toes showing. I just liked the line. I was looking for something to slip on to go up and down my stairs in cold weather hauling firewood, or just to go to the post office, or even maybe out for a toddy with girlfriends. It was described as a "blanket boot", and so I did not think of it as something wear in the snow: in other words, a serious boot. But it was only 100 bucks, what the hay, I thought: if I don't like it, I'll send it back.
The box came today. I was curious but when I picked it up my misgivings seemed confirmed by the lightness of the box. But I took it home and opened it up and oh, man. Right away I was pleased by the line of this boot. It is every bit as adorable as it looks. I slipped them on: I wear a ladies size 9, there was perfect wiggle room for heavy socks. I walked around in them - they are like a moccasin boot, light in the foot, light in the leg. The lining is a good thick flannel, the out side a raspberry colored weave, reminding me of a comfy wool blanket, soft: the little bit of slouch at the top was awesome when I looked in the mirror, and I fell in love with this boot, the line, the color, the way it just looked like a part of my leg. I thought, "Over my dead body is this boot going back! Cuz, Wow!"
Having said all that, understand the fact that I am not a clothes horse nor a shoe fetish gal - I wear a favorite thing to death. I have a high arch: I can fix that and will - it feels like a moccasin, as I said. Also, I am not so certain of the water proofness (is that a word?) but again, I can spray them up with Scotch guard: I only wanted a slip on good looking boot to wear outside my house in winter - it does snow here - to keep my feet warm, not something to tromp in the woods with. This boot is that and more. I really want to give it five stars because for what I wanted it fits the bill. But I think I ought to wear it in snow first, to report on the warmth and the grip and the water proof part (I'll wait on the scotch guard to give you an honest report). If it does all that - these are my first pair of Sorels - I'll bump it up to five stars. This is the first review, and so I just want to be thorough, and keep it real.
Honestly, right now I am so very pleased that they are as adorable as I suspected. It's hard to believe something so light can also protect from the frozen ground and ice - we shall see. I think that anyone who likes a moccasin feel, would love these. The color, let's talk about that: I do not know why Sorel made them in raspberry or funky black and white snake skin looking ..whatever. I should have liked them in a retro, and I mean way retro like Jeremiah Johnson retro thick looking army drab, or nut brown, or some other gorgeous deep and rich color. The line of this boot just shouts confident, real and unassumed grace. I think the "blanket" part ought to reflect the feel and the gorgeous line of covering the animal's foot, but being a part of it: because that's how these feel. I absolutely cannot wait to wear them. I'll check back in a few weeks, to report on the serviceability of this beautiful boot. Ciao.
I would recommend this product.
