I spent a lot of time looking for a pair of winter boots. I had already decided to go with another, less expensive, pair when I saw these. I ordered them immediately and they are worth their weight in gold. Of course, the year I order them the winter was exceptionally mild, so I only got to wear them a few times. They are of such high quality that I don't see myself needing new boots for a very long time though. I expect to get a lot of use out of them.
The times I did get to wear them, I was 100% happy with them. My feet stayed very warm and dry, despite freezing rain and slush puddles. They were wonderful in the snow and I didn't slip when it was icy.
I'm usually a size 7.5 so I ordered the 8. They are roomy but I wouldn't go as far as to say they are TOO big. I'm very comfortable in them.
A few things to keep in mind:
I was looking for snow boots. These are snow boots. They are very stylish, but they aren't the kind of boots you can wear to the club, know what I mean?
Several reviewers mentioned that the boots fit well over muscular calves. On the flip side, they feel a little loose on my skinny legs. It's not a terribly big deal, but I do tend to wear them with a ticker pair of jeans to take up some of the extra room.

My fiancé and I are moving back to NYS after 4 years in VA. Our first winter in VA, I made him promise me that if we ever moved somewhere with "real" winters, he had to get me amazing winter boots because I get cold easily. Well we're moving in 2 weeks and he gave me these boots last night. I was expecting him to get me some solid, warm boots, but I never expected him to get ones that are so cute! For the first time in my life, I'm excited for winter (it's only August)!
As far as sizing goes, I wear either an 8-1/2 or a 9 depending on the shoe (8-1/2 for casual shoes depending on the brand, 9 for more technical hiking/backpacking boots). I got a 9 and am very happy with it, as the 8 would have been too short from heel to toe with thick socks.
To address the negative comments about the boot: these boots are for serious snow, slush, and cold. They are not cutesy little boots designed to be cute. These are designed to be warm and waterproof first, and fashionable second. Warmth and waterproofing requires some weight. Also, they are not technical enough (regarding foot support, or aggressively soled enough) to replace solid hiking/backpacking boots, but will be a dream to slip into before hitting up the pub after a day-long snowshoe.

Finally a boot that fits over my bigger calf!!! Love that!! Plus I just get tons of compliments!!!! It's a wonderful warm boot and living in Vail Colorado I work many events that our outdoors and these boots are perfect for my lifestyle!!!!

I was worried about the fit after reading several reviews and finding different opinions from those that purchased this boot. BUT mine fit perfectly! I have a narrow foot and ordered my exact size-size 8. They are very comfortable, no slipping, my toe doesn't hit the end, heel doesn't slip and they are very cute! Now all I need is some snow!! OH-also love the tred on the bottom so I won't slip while in the snow. THANKS!!

I love these boots! I bought them looking forward to next winter but was surprised with a springy snow day so I got to wear them a bit early! I usually wear a 7.5 and after reading many of the review I took the recommendation to get the size 7 which is perfect. They are a little bit snug but would have definitely been too big if I got the 8. They are cute and stylish to wear around my campus or out to coffee and will definitely warm and durable in the snow. Get these boots!

Great, functional, boot. Runs a tad large. As another buyer mentioned, they are great for muscular calves but fit a bit large on my skinny ones. It feels like there is some kind of ankle support that I was not expecting and may require a little breaking in. Overall satisfied.

I ordered this boot as I needed something high, warm and durable. I live in New England and spend much time outside especially walking my dog in deep snow. These boots provided everything i was looking for. The only downfall is doing up the laces but that is offset by the warmth and comfort of the boot. I ordered my exact shoe size and the fit is spot on. Love them!

These are the most comfortable boots, that are waterproof, that I have ever owned. Usually protective boots are clunky and stiff. Not these, they are comfy and stylish. They do stretch, so get either your true size or even a half size smaller. Overall, love them!!!

This is a beautiful boot! Very stylish, but warm and functional. They do kind of make your feet look large (even though I do wear a size 10), they look wide. Very comfy though, I love them!

I've had these for a week or so now and am loving them! I'm a 7.5 and the 7 fits me perfectly, whether I'm wearing thick or thin socks. I've gotten compliments on them every time I wear them and now my fiance wants a pair of mens Sorels. They look great with jeans or leggings or with a dress on a chilly spring day. Construction so far seems well made and durable. And they are still comfortable after all day at work. I'm happy when it snows or rains and will be kinda bummed when I have to put them away for summer :)

I live in Alaska and this has been my dream boot for the past 2 years. This year I was finally able to buy them and I couldn't be happier! I love this boot; so warm, very comfortable. They are not bulky or heavy and they look great on! I have a large foot and the reason I chose Cate the Great is because it doesn't make my foot look big at all!! I am borderline size 11/12 and thankfully the 11 fits perfect. The one and only downside.... I wish I would have bought them sooner :)

The boots is good but on the picture they look more delicate than they really is. I was wearing them on 30F and my feet was very cold so I don't know have they can be warm in a real low temperatures I expect more for this price.

these boots are so hot! Wore an athleta dress with the boots on a cold snowy day to my part time job where i am on my feet all day. my feet were warm and comfortable. I received a ton of complements on the boots! I would recommend these to anyone who wants functional and fashionable boots.

I absolutely adore these boots. I got them with the hope that I could look fashionable and play hard. I was not let down. I am constantly getting comments about how great they look and just the other day I went on a hike through the snowy dunes of west MI. They were warm, sturdy, and I didn't slip and slide around.
As I read on reviews before I bought them, the toe part was a little snug when they arrived. I bought a size 7. They have since stretched just a touch and I have no problem with them.
I would recommend Sorels to anyone...especially these.

These are the warmest boots I've ever had, and they are so cute! I have worn them almost everyday since I got them and I've gotten tons of compliments on them. The traction is not the best on extremely slippery ice, but they are waterproof and very warm. I normally wear a size 9.5, but the liner in the 9.5 felt too small (even though the boot itself felt big enough). I opted for the size 10, which is a little roomy, but I have been very happy with them (more room for big socks for the really cold days).

This is the second pair of Kate the Greats that I have purchased. My first pair are still in great shape after 3 years, but I like them so much I wanted another pair! Order you true size- and while they may feel a tad snug when you first put them on- your foot will mold to them perfectly. They are warm and fashionable at the same time. I hightly recommend them!

I am very pleased. the color of the actual boot was a bit darker than what was in the picture but the boots were still very cute. I was nervous about what size to order because I can range from size 7.5 to an 8.5 depending on the brand. I chose to go with an 8 due to prevoius reviews saying to down size. Couldnt be happier. We are getting lots and lots of snow right now and im very excited to walk to class in them and wear them and have my feet stay warm AND dry!
