The supple oiled leather upper and felted wool inner liner make this seam-sealed, waterproof boot extra luxurious and perfect for keeping feet warm and dry in cold winter conditions.

I really like these boots. I wore them hiking in the rain today in fairly cold weather (<40F) and my toes stayed cozy, warm and above all dry! These are very good quality boots that I hope will last a lifetime. I do wish they came with maintenance instructions though; I only found out through my mom that it's good to rub mink oil on the leather to keep it waterproof and supple for a long time. I also wish they came with a second pair of laces, just in case, but oh well.
My favorite part is that they are like most other rugged, "duck boots" --super durable, high quality--but they are also very fashionable. I chose them specifically for the color of the leather and rubber, which is more my taste than others combinations. I also like how the liner is removable (so I can add thicker stuff during the colder months and take it out for spring rain). However, the liner does make things a little tight. I normally wear a 7-7.5; I bought an 8 and they're all little snug, but not uncomfortable. I then ordered a 9, but without the liner, they were wayyy to big.
Overall, I expect these boots to be with me for many years, whether I'm hiking in the woods or shopping in the rain. I love these boots because they are so versatile!

I was looking for a waterproof boot for the sludge-filled Chicago winters. These boots do the job. They are warm and keep my feet dry. A little clunky, they took a few times to get used to. I initially developed blisters on my heels but once the leather broke in, I was fine. They run a size big. I am normally a 7 and ordered a 6. They fit perfect and I still have room for a thicker pair of socks.
I would recommend this product.

I purchased these boots last winter (2012). I haven't worn them on many occasions, simply because there hasn't been much need (anyone living in Colorado's Front Range area would probably agree). However, this February, I notice the rubber on the left heel was beginning to crack horizontally along the logo. I wore the boots once (it snowed, so I had no choice!) after noticing the problem; the crack grew and (again) my foot was wet and cold! I am very disappointed, considering my expectations of Sorel craftsmanship and the price paid for these boots. I plan to call Sorel to see if there's something that can be done to replace them.
I do not recommend this product.

I have lived in Alaska my entire life but have refused to buy winter boots, instead I made do with whatever shoes I had at the time. Recently bought these after being away at uni. for four years and cursed myself for not doing it before.
They are comfortable, light and easy to slip into. Highly recommend them. However, if you would like the truly warm ones I would recommend the fur-lined pairs. I chose this pair because I can wear them in fall and elsewhere in the world without sweaty feet! Thanks Sorel!
I would recommend this product.

I originally purchased the 1964 CVS, but size 10 was too large (I'm a pretty solid size 10 in most shoes). The LTRs come in half sizes and they also look pretty darn good. When they came in the mail, I was frustrated that the heel seemed to slip. I tried on my friend's boots (different brand) and they did a similar thing. I haven't owned a pair of snow boots since I was a kid, so it could be I just forgot how they fit.
Still a little nervous about the fit, I took my new boots on a trip to Iceland the next day and was not disappointed - my feet didn't feel cramped, I never got blisters and they stayed toasty warm in the freezing rain. Pretty excited about my purchase. Not to mention Sorel has EXCELLENT customer service - incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
I would recommend this product.

These are THE best winter boots I've ever bought! They are definitely 100% waterproof and sturdy-they can take a long day in slush and snow and keep my toes dry & warm. I was in between sizes and struggled for a long time on which ones to go with. I am an 8 1/2 and bought both the 8 & 9 to try. I would have been happy with either to be honest, but the size of the boot does take some getting used to since it's a little bulkier than your normal shoe. The fit itself didn't feel much different- the 9 would have been uber comfy. But, I went with the 8 & am very happy with them! I can wear with big ski socks or normal ones and feel comfortable. Plus I think they're super stylish, I prefer wearing these all winter knowing they won't get ruined or worn by the snow than any other boot. LOVE them!
I would recommend this product.

Bought this with its lining. I'm usually a size 6 - 6.5, sometimes 7 depending on brand. Followed other reviews and sized down to a 6 and they fit perfectly. A bit snug at firs, but after a few hours of wear, they were perfect. Wore them out walking during single digit temperatures and they kept my feet warm, yet it's weird that as soon as I stayed still I could feel my feet starting to freeze. Love the way that they do not look very "snow boot"-ish. Reminiscent of a pair of high top converse. I've gotten lots of compliments from both men and women. Also tried jumping on water puddles and digging my feet into a pile of snow, just for the heck of it, and yea, they really are water proof.

Love the way these look and feel, but they're not keeping my feet dry! Sending them back and making use of the warranty. I need waterproof boots in the Wisconsin winter. My friend has these exact boots as well, and hers are perfect. Must be a defective pair. How sad for me!

Anyone else having trouble with their socks falling down after walking a bit? The fit is a bit clunky, so they rub downward when I walk. And yes, they are very wide. A bit difficult to walk in. But definitely warm.

I had the same problem. They also pill the heels of any socks I wear with them. I was able to fix the problem of sock "migration" by wearing knee-highs with them.

This is a great option for a slimmer but warm winter boot. The leather is a great option for long lasting waterproof protection. We initially ordered these boots because of some additional perceived features of an extra snow cuff and wool liner. Once I received the boots I realized that they didn't have some of the features that they listed. I found out that they had accidentally carried over the description of the Caribou boots when creating the product page for these boots. So just be careful that you cross reference features of your boots and make sure they are actual and call in to their customer service (they are super nice) and double check. Needless to say the boots are great, and my only gripe is that I wish they came in half sizes.
I would recommend this product.

From the moment my foot was got put into these boots they have been in heaven! I have only had them a week and have worn them several times. I live in Southern California but work work with horses and am in the mountains every other weekend. So far they have been amazing! They are wider than some other shoes that Sorel Has but its due to the Wool liner in it and that wool liner is what make these shoes what they are for me!
Hope you enjoy them !

I love these boots! However, I didn't take the advice that run large seriously enough at first: I'm between a 6 and 7, but leaning towards the 7 so I decided that I should get the 7 still. They were huge on me! When I exchanged them and got a 6, they fit great: not too tight at all. The boots have a great liner to help insulate them, so they're a perfect not-too-clunky boot that can withstand the snow as I walk around my college campus. Very happy with the quality.

I chose this style over the Caribou because it was not quite as industrial looking. The foot bed is a little slimmer and more refined. I have the Caribou, which I bought in Canada years ago and still love it. I needed a pair to leave up north and wanted to duplicate, but the Caribou is much more clunky looking now than back then. The 1964 is is perfect. I ordered the liner to fit with the the shirring on top like the Caribou and it fits and looks great. It also makes it easier to get on as the shirring keeps the felt liner from slipping down in the boot when you slide your foot in. I have not worn this boot, yet. Believe it or not, here in Michigan we are still waiting for snow.
