I was pretty skeptical about ordering these boots online. I live in South Texas but will be in New York in December so I needed some good boots! I was scared to order any online without being able to try them on, and being where I live and this time of year, there aren't any stores that sell snow boots. I read reviews and looked at these boots for probably 2 weeks before I finally just ordered them. I just tried them on and they are better than I expected! They are way thicker than what what the picture shows! Very comfortable and warm. I don't know what all of these complaints about not being able to get your foot in and out are because you can adjust the width around your leg to get your foot in and out, and adjust it per your calf size. I would recommend ordering a half a size smaller than your normal size. Mine is a little too big, but I figure with a really thick sock they will be fine! I love them!!!! Not to mention, they are super cute!!

My heel kept sliding out of these boots, even though I went down a whole size! I do have narrow feet but never have a problem in other shoes or boots. I was afraid i would get blisters. I was really disappointed because they are so cute and warm. They are going back:( Sorel customer service was excellent.

These are the cutest boots ever!! That's about where it stops. Getting them on and off is a nightmare. I ended up slitting the elastic panel, and that worked. I know I should have returned them but they're just so darn cute!!

I bought these boots a few weeks ago when I realized my Ugg's were looking a little worn. I wanted something similar to that style, but a little more structured. These boots were perfect, and on sale which made them even better. The first time I wore them I got tons of compliments. They are a tad big, but I just wear my thicker socks and they are fine. The felt is super warm and looks cute. I highly recommend these boots, they look great with skinny jeans or leggings!

These boots look so cool but, the left side boot opening is much smaller than the right. This makes them hard to get on. It's a shame because I love the boots.

I have fairly wide feet in a true size 7.5. I could wear a 7 in these, and the width is perfect. I don't mind since I often wear thick socks in the winter, but you could probably go down half a size compared to normal sizing and the size chart.
In response to other reviewer's concerns:as I have worn these, they get easier to get on. Under the leather, there is elastic that holds the felt portion together; this seems to have relaxed a bit.
I have wide calves and the adjustable buckle makes it possible to wear these with jeans, but I do tuck my pants into my socks first.
I did treat the leather before use.
The leather does slouch a little when wearing, and the felt does get a fuzzy look. It hasn't pilled though, and I don't mind the more relaxed slouchy look. If you are looking for a more structured boot however, you might want to look at another style.

I purchased this boot about a month ago, since then it has snowed every other day and I have wore them all day long with no problem what so ever. I live in Michigan so we get a lot of snow and they have been wonderful. You do have to put conditioner on them so you won't have any water marks. I love them so much I an thinking about buying the Blanket Boots.

These are comfy once you "break" them in. They are hard to get your foot in but after a few times on and off they are great. Love that they are not tight in the calf so you can easily wear skinny jeans with them.

Great cute boots! Very comfortable and warm. I have searched high and low for boots that could accomodate my slightly larger than average calf muscles and these are perfect!
Great fit...great color...great quality! My only negative is that they take a little bit of effort to get on.

I've been on the hunt for comfortable but stylish boots for YEARS. My 20 inches calves makes it really hard to find a somewhat high boot to fit that description.
I first saw the Felt in a store sale. I was excited to see how the shaft was build. So many possibilities, maybe I could wear my pants INSIDE the boots! I could not get my heel to slide into the 10 at the store (even though I KNEW it would be the perfect size for my feet) so I ordered a 10.5 online (I was doubly excited, they were even cheaper than the store! When I got them, they were so pretty! Same problem though, I tried and tried to get the heel in. Nothing would do. The opening of the base is too stiff for an easy slide in of my big feet.
I had so much hope for those boots and they were crushed. So I returned them.

but getting them on is an ordeal if you have any sort of an arch to your foot. You really have to tug on the felt, which I'm sure I've stretched in the process.
I wear these when travelling in cold weather locations, so I sprayed liberally with waterproof. They're great now, for trudging thru snow & salt.

These are the warmest, most comfy pair of boots I've ever had.
They run true to size, the D-ring in the back is a bit odd at first, but after a couple of wearings.....didn't notice.
Can't wait to get my next pair.

these boots are very warm and comfortable, but the design is just not functional. see that little pucker in the leather between the two buckles? when you wear the boot, the pucker is HUGE and looks very strange. also, you really have to pull them to get them on, and the felt where i have to grab them is getting really fuzzy and ratty looking. they could really use a loop on the back to pull them on so you don't have to grab the felt. i really wish i had not bought these. i'm thinking of trying to tape some bamboo skewers or something inside the leather flap to keep it from puckering so badly.

like they do for the children. Sent it back because though getting it on wasn't an issue the boot was too big for my calf (ok. not my calf below the calf) as I have long legs. And still if they were in black I would have kept them.

I've had my eye on these boots since before x-mas so when they went on sale I was ecstatic. I got them in the mail last night and immediately upon opening the box felt a little let down. First of all they seem much larger and clunkier then in the photos. I actually thought they had sent the wrong size. I tried to put them on and it took all the strength I could muster to get them over my heel (I don't have especially wide feet and have never had this problem). Even after loosen the straps they were tough to get on. They were much looser around my legs then expected and the way the excess strap stuck straight out kind of bothered me as well. The colors, materials, and quality are top notch but the over all fit of them was quite disappointing especially for the price. Sadly I will be returning them (at my own expense since sorel does not do free returns like most retailers).

I was looking for a pair of brown and a pair of black everyday boots that were functional and comfortable, but also fashionable and fun to wear. I had to return two pairs of Frye's and a pair of Born's before I found perfection on the Sorel website. I purchased the Chipahko and the Wicked Workboot. The particulars for both in person are: attractive, creative styling, excellent quality, COMFORTABLE!~no break in time needed, shafts wide enough to easily slip straight leg style jeans into with no excessive gapping of shaft or bunching of jean, foot slides in easily with regular sock~true to size! (I went a half size up b/c I wear thick socks in the winter), and best yet they aren't too narrow! I have a medium width foot and there is no pinching, stretching or tightness at all. That said, maybe use caution if you have a very narrow foot. Particular to the Chipahko, when you first put them on and walk on tile or linoleum, there is squeaking, but it goes away quickly!! Don't return b/c of this. It must just be a protective coating or something that goes away. Promise. Particular to the Wicked Workboot, I have worn these already in slushy snow and even stepped in a puddle. My feet stayed dry and warm and the boot still looks great; no damage, watermark, etc... Enjoy!!

These boots are so cute, I went out and bought several dresses just to wear with them -- I can wear them for a full day at work (desk job), but I did wear them out the other day, and they were painfully tight on my wide feet after about 2 hours of shopping/running errands. (I had to take them off on the drive home)
I wish they were available in a wide width, but this is no fault of the shoe - just my personal fit problem with most shoes.
I ordered a size 6.5, the length is perfect. And they fit my large calves well - takes a little time to get my jeans stuffed inside them, though.

I read the reviews and agree, these are tricky to get on at first but keep trying and you will get them on. After you wear once, they are so much easier to get on. These boots are comfortable, warm and trendy. Perfect for Michigan weather! and perfect for those that want to wear something unique. Thanks Sorel!

This boot was so cute and I looked forward to sinking my toes into it. However, my toes could not make it all the way into the boot. Although there is a buckle and you can loosen the shaft of the boot, which is excellent to adjust to calf size, you can't fit your foot past the vamp(middle)of the boot. The way that the two materials in this boot are stitched together prevents you from being able to slide easily into the boot. If I had gotten a bigger size, my foot would have slid easily into the boot, but then it would have been too large on my foot and caused blisters from my heel slipping. I loved the concept of the two tones and buckles on the boot and the materials are great, but the construction was not completely thought through. It is also frustrating when you order a boot and it costs so much for the return shipping. Cute boot, bad fit.
