I ordered these in a size 6 youth (size 8 women). They fit very close to size, but are wider than normal so they feel loser than other shoes. I can wear them with a thick pair of socks & they are perfect as my winter slippers.
Still, I would not size down because it would be too snug lengthwise.
I love the quality and comfort and would (and will) purchase again.
